Introduction
Gleditsia leaf has the effects of dispelling wind and detoxifying, and can be used to treat disorders caused by wind pathogen invasion and accumulation of toxic pathogens. Using Gleditsia leaf in external washes or oral administrations can relieve itching by dispelling wind, clear heat, and alleviate discomfort symptoms of the skin, thus promoting recovery from skin conditions. Gleditsia leaf also has functions of reducing swelling and relieving pain, and can improve injuries from falls or blows, and conditions such as swelling and pain due to blood stasis. The leaves can be crushed and applied externally to the affected area.

Soapberry leaves generally refer to the leaves of the Chinese honey locust (Gleditsia sinensis), which typically have functions and benefits such as wind-dispelling and detoxification, reducing swelling and relieving pain, killing parasites and relieving itching, removing phlegm and relieving cough, and promoting bowel movements and moistening the intestines.

1. Wind-dispelling and Detoxification

Soapberry leaves have the effect of dispelling wind and detoxifying, and can be used to treat conditions caused by invasion of wind pathogens or accumulation of toxic pathogens. Using soapberry leaves in decoction for external washing or internal consumption can relieve itching caused by wind, detoxify and clear heat, alleviate skin discomfort, and promote recovery from skin conditions.

2. Reducing Swelling and Relieving Pain

Soapberry leaves can reduce swelling and relieve pain, and are effective for injuries from falls or blows and conditions involving bruising and swelling. Applying mashed soapberry leaves externally to the affected area can promote local blood circulation, dissipate bruising, and thereby reduce swelling and pain, aiding in the recovery of the injured area.

3. Killing Parasites and Relieving Itching

Soapberry leaves have the function of killing parasites and relieving itching, and can be used to treat various parasitic skin diseases and itching-related dermatological conditions. Using a decoction of soapberry leaves for external washing or applying it in ointment form can kill parasites, relieve itching, improve skin condition, and reduce patient discomfort.

4. Removing Phlegm and Relieving Cough

Soapberry leaves act on the lung meridian and have the effect of removing phlegm and relieving cough. Patients suffering from cough with excessive phlegm and thick, difficult-to-expectorate mucus can benefit from taking soapberry leaf preparations or drinking its decoction. This can stimulate respiratory mucosa, dilute mucus, facilitate expectoration, alleviate cough symptoms, and relieve respiratory discomfort.

5. Promoting Bowel Movements and Moistening the Intestines

Soapberry leaves have a certain effect in promoting bowel movements and moistening the intestines, helping to stimulate intestinal peristalsis and ease defecation. For conditions such as dry constipation and hard stools, taking soapberry leaves can stimulate the intestinal mucosa, increase intestinal secretion and peristalsis, soften the stool, and make bowel movements smoother, thus improving intestinal function.

It is recommended to use soapberry leaves under the guidance of a physician; self-medication is not advised. Maintain a light diet in daily life, avoid spicy and irritating foods, ensure a balanced dietary structure, and consume a variety of foods.
