What Should Women Eat to Regulate Excessive Night Sweats?
Spontaneous sweating (i.e., sweating without exertion or heat exposure) is a manifestation of physical weakness. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this symptom may result from deficiency of both Qi and Yin, or from Yin deficiency accompanied by internal heat. So, what dietary remedies can help women manage spontaneous sweating?
1. Huangqi (Astragalus) and Jujube Decoction
This decoction can be consumed regularly. To prepare it, simmer an appropriate amount of Huangqi (Astragalus root) and jujubes in water. One dose per day, taken consistently over a period of time, helps regulate spontaneous sweating while also tonifying Qi, replenishing vital energy, and nourishing blood—benefiting overall health.
2. Tremella and Jujube Decoction
Tremella fungus is rich in vitamin D, which helps prevent calcium loss. Regular consumption nourishes Yin and moisturizes the skin. When cooked with jujubes, this combination calms the mind, soothes the spirit, enhances cognitive function, nourishes Yin, and clears internal heat. To prepare: soak tremella in clean water until softened, remove the hard stems, rinse thoroughly, and tear into small pieces. Wash the jujubes, split them open, and combine all ingredients in a clay pot with water. Simmer gently over low heat until fully cooked.
