Introduction
The瘦脸针 (muscle-relaxing injection) usually works by causing the masseter muscle to atrophy, thereby achieving a slimming effect on the face. If the injection dose or placement is improper, it may lead to facial indentation. If the indentation is mild, as the botulinum toxin is gradually metabolized in the body over 3-6 months, the masseter muscle will slowly regain some strength and volume, and the indentation will also improve progressively. During this period, certain adjunctive measures may also accelerate the recovery process.
