What are the methods for male anal massage?
Generally speaking, the term "hou ting" (posterior court) refers to the anal area. Methods for male anal area massage include circular anal massage, acupressure massage at the Changqiang point, combined levator ani muscle massage, rectal internal massage, and alternating cold and hot compress massage. Detailed explanations are as follows:
1. Circular Anal Massage
First, have the male lie on his side with knees slightly bent and drawn near the chest to relax the gluteal muscles. The massager should wear disposable gloves and apply an appropriate amount of lubricant on the fingers. Then, gently touch the skin around the anus with the index finger and perform circular massage in a clockwise direction. The movements should be gentle and slow, with moderate pressure, avoiding direct pressure inside the anus. The range of the circular massage can extend outward about 2–3 cm from the anal margin, with each session lasting 1–2 minutes at a frequency of approximately 30–40 times per minute. This method primarily promotes anal blood circulation, prevents and relieves mild feelings of heaviness caused by poor circulation in the anal area, and provides certain health benefits for men who sit for long periods.
2. Acupressure Massage at the Changqiang Point
The Changqiang point is located at the midpoint between the tip of the coccyx and the anus. After positioning the male in a prone posture, the massager locates the Changqiang point and gently presses the area with the fleshy part of the thumb. The pressure should be moderate, producing sensations of soreness, numbness, and distension, but should not be excessively painful. Each press should last 3–5 seconds, followed by release, repeating 10–15 times. Massaging the Changqiang point helps regulate local qi and blood flow and can assist in improving anal sphincter function, as well as preventing and alleviating discomfort caused by anal diseases such as hemorrhoids and anal fissures.
3. Combined Levator Ani Muscle Massage Technique
Have the male lie flat on the bed with legs apart and knees slightly bent. First, instruct the male to perform levator ani exercises, consciously contracting the anal sphincter muscles as if holding back a bowel movement, maintaining the contraction for 3–5 seconds, then slowly relaxing. While the male performs the levator ani exercises, the massager gently massages the muscles around the anus with fingers, gently squeezing and kneading from both sides toward the center in synchronization with the levator ani exercises. Perform 5–10 sets of massage combined with the levator ani exercises. This method helps strengthen the anal sphincter muscles and has a positive effect on improving anal laxity or aiding functional recovery after certain anorectal surgeries.
4. Rectal Internal Massage
This method must be performed by trained medical personnel. Under strictly sterile conditions, wear sterile gloves and apply sufficient lubricant, then slowly insert the index finger into the rectum. The movements must be extremely gentle, initially performing light circular touches on the rectal wall to assess its tension and detect any abnormal masses. Then, apply appropriate pressure to massage in a clockwise direction, reaching a depth of approximately 2–3 cm, with each massage session lasting no more than one minute. Rectal internal massage can stimulate peristalsis and aid defecation.
5. Alternating Cold and Hot Compress Massage
Prepare two clean towels, one soaked in hot water and the other in cold water. Have the male lie on his side, first applying the wrung-out hot towel gently on the anal area for 1–2 minutes, providing warm stimulation to the skin and muscles around the anus to promote blood circulation. Then quickly switch to the cold towel, similarly applying it to the anal area for 1–2 minutes, using alternating hot and cold stimuli on the blood vessels and nerves around the anus. Repeat this process for 3–4 sets. This alternating hot and cold massage method enhances the adaptability of perianal tissues, reduces local inflammatory responses, and is effective in alleviating mild inflammation or early-stage swelling caused by hemorrhoids.
The anal area is sensitive and unique; therefore, hygiene should be maintained during massage to avoid tissue damage. If a male has any anal diseases, he should consult a physician before undergoing massage to prevent worsening of the condition.
