Introduction
Some routine physical examinations, such as height, weight, and blood pressure measurements, or certain tests minimally affected by food and beverages, such as electrocardiogram (ECG) and X-ray examinations, generally will not be significantly influenced by moderate consumption of coffee or carbonated drinks on the day before the test, provided the individual does not have specific health conditions such as gastrointestinal disorders or arrhythmias.

Generally, if it is a routine examination, you can usually drink coffee or carbonated beverages the day before the check-up. However, for certain specific examinations, drinking coffee or carbonated beverages might not be allowed.

For some routine physical examinations, such as height, weight, and blood pressure measurements, or tests minimally affected by food and beverages, such as electrocardiogram (ECG) and X-ray examinations, moderate consumption of coffee or carbonated drinks the day before the check-up generally will not significantly affect the test results. If an individual has no specific health problems, such as gastrointestinal disorders or arrhythmia, moderate consumption of coffee or carbonated beverages will not significantly impact their health, so drinking them on the day before the examination is acceptable.

For blood glucose-related tests, such as fasting blood glucose tests or glucose tolerance tests, caffeine and sugar contained in carbonated beverages may affect blood glucose levels, leading to inaccurate test results; therefore, consumption should be avoided the day before the examination. Before undergoing gastroscopy or colonoscopy, to ensure adequate bowel cleansing and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort, beverages containing caffeine and high levels of sugar, including coffee and carbonated drinks, should be avoided.

To prevent unnecessary interference with test results or adverse effects on the body, it is recommended to follow medical advice and prepare under professional guidance.
