Introduction
For superficially located, small-volume gliomas, the surgical procedure is relatively straightforward with minimal damage to brain tissue. Patients generally recover well after surgery, without significant symptoms such as headache, dizziness, or limb weakness. Typically, within 1 to 7 days post-surgery, patients can attempt to sit at the edge of the bed with assistance from medical staff or family members, and gradually progress to standing at the bedside and walking short distances.

Generally, patients can get out of bed and walk within 1 to 14 days after glioma surgery. Detailed analysis is as follows:

If the glioma is superficially located and relatively small, the surgery is usually straightforward with minimal damage to brain tissue. Patients typically recover well after surgery without significant symptoms such as headache, dizziness, or limb weakness. In such cases, patients can generally attempt to sit up at the bedside with assistance from medical staff or family members within 1–7 days post-surgery, gradually progressing to standing at the bedside and walking short distances.

If the surgery is more complex—for example, if the tumor is closely attached to critical nerves or blood vessels, the operation time is longer, or there is significant pulling or damage to brain tissue—or if postoperative complications such as brain edema, hemorrhage, or infection occur, the recovery period will be significantly prolonged. Patients may require 7–14 days before being able to get out of bed. During this time, close monitoring and treatment in the intensive care unit or general ward are necessary. Rehabilitation training and ambulation will begin only after the patient's condition stabilizes and complications are effectively controlled.

To promote postoperative recovery, patients should follow their doctor's guidance regarding appropriate physical activity and maintain healthy dietary habits and a positive mindset.
