Efficacy and Effects of Halometasone Cream
Halometasone cream is a potent corticosteroid formulation primarily used for anti-inflammatory treatment. Its most common indication is allergic skin disorders. Occasionally, it is also employed in the management of conditions such as hypertrophic scars and vitiligo.

The most frequent indications include allergic dermatoses such as eczema and contact dermatitis. Although halometasone cream exhibits both anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects, its high potency carries a risk of adverse effects.

For common inflammatory skin conditions—such as eczema and dermatitis—moderate- or low-potency topical corticosteroids (e.g., mometasone furoate or alclometasone dipropionate) are generally preferred. Halometasone cream is used less frequently due to its high potency. When prescribed, careful attention must be paid to treatment duration to minimize risks such as cutaneous atrophy and other potential side effects.
