Introduction
In general, Pulsatilla (Baitouweng) can be used to treat malaria caused by heat-toxin invasion and internal accumulation of damp-heat, but is not suitable for malaria due to deficiency-cold patterns or in patients whose constitutions are not suitable. If any abnormalities occur, prompt medical attention is recommended. Pulsatilla is cold in nature; individuals with spleen-stomach deficiency-cold, pregnant women, and children should use it cautiously or only under the guidance of a physician. Additionally, it should not be taken in excessive doses or for prolonged periods.

Generally, Pulsatilla (Baitouweng) can be used to treat malaria caused by heat-toxin invasion and internal accumulation of damp-heat. However, it is not suitable for patients with malaria due to deficiency-cold syndrome or those whose physical conditions are not compatible. If any abnormalities occur, prompt medical attention is recommended. Detailed analysis is as follows:

Malaria is commonly caused by heat-toxin invasion and internal accumulation of damp-heat. Patients often present with symptoms such as chills, high fever, headache, body aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Pulsatilla can help clear heat-toxin and damp-heat from the body and regulate immune function, thereby relieving malaria symptoms.

However, patients with deficiency-cold type malaria often have weak constitutions and may exhibit symptoms such as cold intolerance, cold extremities, pale complexion, a pale tongue, and a white coating on the tongue. Using Pulsatilla in such cases might further damage yang energy and worsen the condition. Additionally, some patients may be allergic to components of Pulsatilla, which could lead to allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or difficulty breathing after administration. Therefore, before using Pulsatilla to treat malaria, it is important to carefully inquire about the patient's allergy history and perform necessary allergy tests.

Due to its cold nature, Pulsatilla should be used cautiously in individuals with deficiency-cold syndromes of the spleen and stomach, as well as in pregnant women and children, or should be used under the guidance of a physician. Furthermore, it should not be taken in excessive doses or for prolonged periods.
