What causes insufficient blood supply to the brain?
Insufficient cerebral blood supply may be caused by improper posture, dehydration, cervical spondylosis, hypertension, atherosclerosis, and other factors. Management should be based on specific conditions. It is recommended to visit a hospital promptly and follow medical advice for treatment.

1. Improper posture: Prolonged periods of looking down at mobile phones or working at a desk can cause cervical spine deformation, compressing neck blood vessels and impairing cerebral blood supply. Correct poor posture in daily life, move the neck regularly, and perform neck stretching exercises during work breaks.
2. Dehydration: Insufficient water intake and bodily dehydration increase blood viscosity and slow blood flow, affecting cerebral blood supply. Increase fluid intake, ensuring 1500-2000 milliliters daily, consumed in multiple servings. Drink more boiled water and fewer sugary beverages to dilute blood, improve circulation, and ensure adequate brain blood supply.
3. Cervical spondylosis: Long-term cervical strain and degeneration may lead to herniated discs or bone spurs, compressing the vertebral artery and impairing cerebral blood supply. Symptoms include dizziness, headache, neck pain, and upper limb numbness. Patients may take medications such as mecobalamin tablets, Jingfukang granules, and ibuprofen sustained-release capsules under medical guidance to alleviate discomfort.
4. Hypertension: Persistently high blood pressure damages vascular endothelium, thickens and hardens vessel walls, narrows the lumen, and causes cerebral hypoperfusion, often accompanied by headache, palpitations, and blurred vision. It is recommended to use medications such as nifedipine controlled-release tablets, irbesartan tablets, and hydrochlorothiazide tablets under medical supervision to alleviate symptoms.
5. Atherosclerosis: Dyslipidemia, smoking, and other factors promote atherosclerotic plaque formation on arterial walls, narrowing vessels, impeding blood flow, and impairing cerebral blood supply. Symptoms include dizziness, memory loss, and limb numbness. Patients may follow medical advice to use medications such as atorvastatin calcium tablets, aspirin enteric-coated tablets, and clopidogrel bisulfate tablets to aid recovery.
In daily life, choosing a pillow of moderate height during sleep helps maintain the natural physiological curvature of the cervical spine, promotes blood circulation, and alleviates symptoms of insufficient cerebral blood supply.
