Today, HSC donation no longer requires direct bone marrow aspiration; instead, peripheral blood stem cells are collected via apheresis—a process similar to blood donation—making it extremely safe with minimal impact on the donor’s overall health. Some donors may experience transient fatigue or mild immunosuppression post-donation, but these symptoms usually resolve gradually with adequate rest.
