Ziziphus jujuba seed (Suanzaoren) can generally be consumed as an infusion. However, it is important to ensure appropriate intake according to individual conditions.

Ziziphus jujuba seed is neutral in nature, sweet and sour in taste, and enters the heart and liver meridians. It has the functions of nourishing the heart, calming the mind, and reducing perspiration. It is suitable for symptoms such as palpitations, insomnia, excessive dreaming, spontaneous sweating, and night sweats. For individuals with weak constitutions, neurasthenia, insomnia, and excessive dreaming, moderate consumption of Ziziphus jujuba seed infusion can be beneficial in improving sleep quality and alleviating anxiety.
When preparing the infusion, select clean Ziziphus jujuba seeds without any unpleasant odor. Rinse them thoroughly in a strainer with clean water to remove impurities. Crush the seeds and place them into a stainless steel cup, glass cup, or ceramic cup. Add an appropriate amount of boiling water, stir, and let it steep for about half an hour. Alternatively, you may directly place the cleaned seeds into a cup, add hot water, and steep for 5-10 minutes. Once the infusion has cooled to a suitable temperature, it can be consumed. It may be re-brewed multiple times.
When consuming the infusion, attention should be paid to the quantity to avoid excessive intake, which may cause side effects such as heatiness or arrhythmia.
