Introduction
In general, when the vagina is infected by Candida, it may trigger an inflammatory response by irritating the vaginal wall mucosa, leading to increased exudate that mixes with necrotic tissue, thereby forming abnormal secretions resembling tofu residue or cottage cheese. It is advisable to choose loose, breathable cotton clothing, change and wash them frequently, especially underwear. After washing, they should be dried in sunlight to reduce the risk of Candida infection.

Under normal circumstances, when Candida infects the vagina, it may stimulate the vaginal mucosa and trigger an inflammatory response, leading to increased exudate that mixes with necrotic tissue, thereby forming abnormal secretions resembling cottage cheese or curdled milk. A detailed explanation is as follows:

Candida is a common type of fungus. When the body's immunity decreases or environmental conditions change, Candida can cause infections. When Candida infects the vagina, it multiplies excessively and irritates the vaginal mucosa, causing a series of inflammatory reactions, including congestion and edema of the vaginal mucosa and increased exudate. These exudates mix with necrotic tissue and bacteria inside the vagina, forming abnormal secretions resembling cottage cheese or curdled milk. The discharge is thick in texture and may appear white or yellowish-white, accompanied by a fishy or sour odor.

In addition, Candida infection may also cause symptoms such as itching of the vulva, burning sensation, swelling and redness of the skin and mucous membranes, red patches, pain during sexual intercourse, difficulty urinating, and dysuria. Patients can take medications such as fluconazole capsules, itraconazole capsules, or clotrimazole cream under the guidance of a physician.

In daily life, it is recommended to choose loose-fitting, breathable cotton clothing, change and wash them frequently, especially underwear. After washing, dry them in the sunlight to utilize ultraviolet light for sterilization, thus reducing the risk of Candida infection.
