What should not be eaten with loquat?
Loquat generally should not be consumed together with white spirits, milk, crab, cucumber, or lychee.

1. White spirits: Loquat contains abundant fruit acid. When consumed together with alcohol, the fruit acid accelerates the absorption of alcohol in the body, increasing the metabolic burden on the liver. This may quickly lead to discomforts such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and palpitations. Especially for individuals with weak liver function or underlying liver disease, this combination could trigger more serious health risks, so it must be strictly avoided.
2. Milk: The fruit acid in loquat may react with proteins in milk to form coagulated masses that are difficult to digest, causing digestive problems such as bloating and diarrhea. It is recommended to wait at least 1–2 hours after consuming milk before eating loquat, or choose other non-acidic fruits instead to maintain normal gastrointestinal digestion.
3. Crab: Crab is a high-protein seafood. The tannic acid in loquat may react with the protein in crab to form tannic acid protein, which is difficult for the human body to absorb. This not only reduces nutrient utilization but may also irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, causing symptoms such as abdominal pain and nausea. After eating crab, wait for at least 2 hours until the protein is mostly digested before consuming loquat.
4. Cucumber: Cucumber contains vitamin C decomposing enzymes, while loquat is a fruit high in vitamin C. When consumed together, the vitamin C in loquat may be destroyed by the enzyme, significantly reducing its nutritional benefits. If you wish to consume both, it is recommended to pair cucumber with foods that are not high in vitamin C to preserve the nutritional activity of loquat.
5. Lychee: Lychee has a warm nature, while loquat is cool in nature. Their opposing properties may disrupt the body's internal balance of cold and heat when consumed together, leading to gastrointestinal disturbances such as bloating, diarrhea, or heatiness symptoms. Particularly for individuals with sensitive constitutions or those undergoing body regulation, it is advisable to separate consumption by at least 2 hours to avoid conflicting effects that may impact health.
It is recommended to pay attention to reasonable food combinations while enjoying delicious meals and adjust dietary habits according to individual body constitution. In daily diets, maintaining a balanced dietary structure and diverse food intake helps sustain good health.
