Generally, after consuming crawfish, it is advisable to avoid eating raw or cold foods, foods rich in vitamin C, beer, high-protein foods, and seafood. The specific reasons are as follows:

1. Raw or Cold Foods

Crawfish are considered to be relatively cold in nature. Consuming raw or cold foods, such as ice cream or sashimi, may further burden the gastrointestinal system, potentially causing digestive disturbances like abdominal pain and diarrhea.

2. Foods Rich in Vitamin C

Although vitamin C is generally beneficial to the human body, excessive intake after consuming crawfish—which may contain high levels of heavy metals—could promote the absorption of these heavy metals, thereby increasing health risks.

3. Beer

Beer contains purines, and crawfish are also high in purines. Consuming them together increases uric acid production, which may trigger gout or worsen hyperuricemia, particularly posing a higher risk for individuals with gout.

4. High-Protein Foods

Crawfish themselves are high in protein. After consumption, it is advisable to avoid immediately ingesting large amounts of other high-protein foods, such as meat or soy products, to prevent excessive protein intake, which may increase the burden on the kidneys.

5. Seafood

Certain types of seafood, such as crabs and shellfish, are similarly cold in nature and may share similar allergens with crawfish. Consuming them together may exacerbate gastrointestinal coldness or lead to an additive allergic reaction, such as intensified skin rashes or itching.
