Introduction
In general, scabies usually cannot resolve on its own. If not treated promptly and properly, symptoms may progressively worsen and could be transmitted to others; therefore, targeted measures are necessary to control the condition. In daily life, scratching the skin should be avoided to prevent infection, and the skin should be kept clean and dry. Personal items such as clothing and bedding should not be shared with others. After treatment, a period of observation is necessary to ensure that all symptoms have completely disappeared.

Generally, scabies cannot resolve on its own. Without timely and proper treatment, symptoms will continue to worsen and may spread to others. Targeted measures are required to control the condition. Detailed analysis is as follows:

Scabies is caused by the infestation of Sarcoptes scabiei mites on the skin. These mites burrow into the stratum corneum of the skin to lay eggs and reproduce, continuously secreting substances that irritate the skin, leading to recurring symptoms such as itching, papules, and vesicles. If left untreated, itching typically worsens at night, affecting sleep quality. Scratching may cause skin damage and increase the risk of bacterial infection, leading to conditions such as pustules and crust formation. The affected areas may also spread from locations such as between the fingers and wrists to the trunk and limbs.

To control scabies, specific topical insecticidal medications must be applied to the skin. At the same time, clothing, bedding, towels, and other personal items should be boiled or exposed to direct sunlight for disinfection to kill any remaining mites. If family members or close contacts develop similar symptoms, they should also receive treatment simultaneously to prevent cross-infection.
