Introduction
1. Salt and Milk Solution: In daily practice, you may prepare a salt-and-milk solution. First, take an appropriate amount of unused table salt. 2. Nasal Wing Cleansing: When washing your face daily, pay special attention to cleansing both sides of the nasal wings. For oily or combination skin, gel-based facial cleansers are recommended. 3. Topical Medications: In daily care, topical erythromycin ointment may be applied for treatment; alternatively, tretinoin (vitamin A acid) cream may also be used topically.

“Strawberry nose” commonly appears on the forehead and nose. When facial sebaceous glands become overstimulated, pores become filled with excess sebum. If not thoroughly and promptly cleansed, these glands may become clogged, resulting in an oily sensation around the nose and face. Over time, this accumulated sebum hardens and oxidizes, turning into small black dots—commonly known as blackheads. So, how can “strawberry nose” be effectively treated? Below, we address this question.

How to Effectively Treat Strawberry Nose

1. Salt and Milk Treatment

A simple home remedy involves mixing salt with milk. Take a small amount of unused table salt and add a few drops of milk until the salt is partially dissolved. Gently massage the mixture onto areas affected by blackheads for approximately 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Alternatively, baking soda may be used to remove blackheads: its alkaline properties help neutralize the acidic sebum, thereby dissolving it. Mix baking soda powder with purified water in a 1:10 ratio, soak a cotton pad in the solution, and apply it to the affected area for 15 minutes.

2. Cleansing the Nasal Folds

When washing your face, pay special attention to cleansing the nasal folds (the sides of the nose). For oily or combination skin types, gel-based cleansers are recommended. Use gentle, circular motions with your fingertips while cleansing. During both morning and evening routines, massage the nasal fold area thoroughly to help dislodge trapped sebum and impurities from the pores. Additionally, you may apply your regular makeup remover directly onto blackhead-prone areas and gently massage in circular motions.

3. Topical Medications

Topical treatments such as erythromycin ointment or tretinoin cream may be used. Tretinoin cream is typically applied only at night, as ultraviolet radiation from sunlight may enhance its carcinogenic potential. Prolonged use should therefore be avoided, as it may irritate the skin and cause peeling. Moreover, when managing blackheads, avoid using alkaline soaps for facial cleansing. Individuals prone to blackheads are also advised to limit intake of spicy and highly stimulating foods.

The above outlines effective approaches for treating “strawberry nose.” We hope this information proves helpful to you.
