However, they tend to be thicker and more occlusive, often leaving a heavy, greasy residue and potentially clogging pores or triggering breakouts. Moreover, physical sunscreens typically require dedicated cleansing or makeup-removal products for thorough removal. In contrast, chemical sunscreens absorb UV radiation within the upper layers of the skin. They offer lightweight, cosmetically elegant textures with superior spreadability and skin feel. Yet, their drawbacks include relative photoinstability, potential for skin irritation, and a higher risk of allergic reactions.
