There are several methods for women to eliminate dampness from the body.
Women can primarily eliminate dampness through dietary regulation, moderate exercise, acupoint massage, environmental improvement, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) interventions. By adjusting the body's condition from multiple dimensions, these methods help promote the removal of dampness. Appropriate methods should be chosen according to individual circumstances. If symptoms such as prolonged fatigue, thick greasy tongue coating, and menstrual irregularities persist, it is recommended to seek medical advice promptly.
1. Dietary Regulation: Reduce intake of raw, cold, and sweet greasy foods. Increase consumption of spleen-strengthening and dampness-resolving foods such as red beans, poria (Fuling), and winter melon. Use warming seasonings like ginger and Sichuan pepper during cooking to help transform internal dampness, avoiding additional strain on the spleen and stomach’s digestive functions.
2. Moderate Exercise: Engage in moderate-intensity activities such as brisk walking, yoga, or Baduanjin (Eight Brocades), 3–5 times per week for at least 30 minutes each session. Exercise promotes sweating and accelerates metabolism, helping expel dampness from the body through perspiration.

3. Acupoint Massage: Regularly massage key acupoints such as Zusanli (ST36), Yinlingquan (SP9), and Fenglong (ST40). Apply pressure for 3–5 minutes on each point, once or twice daily. Stimulating these points helps regulate spleen and stomach function and enhances the body’s ability to metabolize dampness. Apply pressure until a mild soreness or distending sensation is felt.
4. Environmental Improvement: Avoid prolonged exposure to damp environments. Minimize outdoor activities during rainy weather. Use dehumidifiers indoors or keep windows open for ventilation. Dry clothes and bedding promptly to prevent external dampness from entering the body and worsening internal dampness.
5. TCM Interventions: For severe dampness, treatments such as herbal medicine, moxibustion, or cupping may be used under the guidance of a qualified practitioner. Based on TCM pattern differentiation, these therapies target dampness more effectively. Always follow professional instructions strictly to avoid improper self-treatment that could lead to discomfort.
Daily habits should include maintaining regular sleep patterns to avoid staying up late, which can impair spleen and stomach function. Hair should be dried thoroughly after washing to prevent sleeping with wet hair. Maintaining a positive mood is also important, as emotional stress can disrupt metabolic processes in the body.
