Introduction
Whether eating chicken feet leads to weight gain cannot be generalized. Eating them in moderation and choosing light cooking methods usually does not cause weight gain, whereas overeating or frequently consuming fried chicken feet or those cooked with excessive oil and sugar can easily lead to weight gain. When eating chicken feet, it's best to choose lighter preparations such as braising or stewing, and remove part of the skin to reduce fat intake. Limit each serving to 3–5 pieces.

Chicken feet themselves are not extremely high in fat and are rich in collagen and protein, so moderate consumption can provide nutritional benefits. However, the skin of chicken feet contains a certain amount of fat, and the cooking method greatly affects calorie content. For example, fried chicken feet absorb a large amount of oil, reaching over 300 kcal per 100 grams, significantly higher than the approximately 150 kcal per 100 grams for braised chicken feet.

In terms of energy balance between intake and expenditure, if daily physical activity is low and high-fat, high-sugar chicken feet are frequently consumed in large amounts, excess calories may be converted into body fat, leading to weight gain over time. This may also increase gastrointestinal and metabolic strain, making it particularly unsuitable for individuals managing their weight or blood lipid levels.

When eating chicken feet, opt for lighter preparations such as braising or stewing, and remove some of the skin to reduce fat intake. Limit portion size to 3–5 pieces per serving and pair with vegetables. Avoid consuming other high-fat foods at the same time, maintain a balanced diet, and thereby reduce the risk of weight gain.
