Why is there daily discharge on women's underwear?
Women may have daily vaginal discharge on their underwear, which could be caused by normal physiological secretion, hormonal changes during ovulation, vaginitis, cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and other conditions. Symptoms can be improved through proper hygiene, observation and care, or medical treatment. If the discharge has an unusual odor, abnormal color, or is accompanied by itching, prompt medical attention is recommended.
1. Normal physiological discharge: The ovaries cyclically secrete hormones that stimulate the vaginal mucosa to produce a small amount of clear or milky white discharge. This type of discharge is odorless and causes no discomfort. It is recommended to wash the external genital area daily with warm water, change underwear frequently, and keep the area clean and dry. No special treatment is needed.
2. Hormonal changes during ovulation: During ovulation, rising estrogen levels cause increased discharge that becomes stretchy and egg-white-like in consistency, lasting for 3–5 days. It is advisable to maintain good personal hygiene, wear cotton and breathable underwear, avoid using irritating cleansers, and allow the process to occur naturally.

3. Vaginitis: Imbalance of vaginal flora due to bacterial or fungal infection leads to increased discharge with abnormal color, often accompanied by external genital itching and odor. It is recommended to use medications such as metronidazole suppositories, clotrimazole suppositories, or Fuyankang tablets under medical guidance to relieve symptoms.
4. Cervicitis: Inflammation caused by pathogen infection of the cervix results in milky white or pale yellow discharge that is thick in texture and may be accompanied by contact bleeding. Treatment may include medications such as Baofukang suppositories, cefixime dispersible tablets, or azithromycin capsules, used under a doctor’s supervision to improve symptoms.
5. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID): Infection-induced inflammation of pelvic tissues causes increased yellowish discharge, along with lower abdominal heaviness and low back pain. Follow medical advice to use medications such as levofloxacin capsules, cefuroxime axetil tablets, or Gynecological Qianjin tablets to manage symptoms.
Maintain external genital hygiene by wearing cotton, breathable underwear; wash daily with warm water and avoid irritant cleansers; eat a light diet avoiding spicy and stimulating foods; engage in moderate exercise to strengthen the body and support reproductive health.
