What does "low stimulation" mean?
Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, commonly referred to as "low促" (low gonadotropin), is a condition caused by dysfunction of the pituitary gland or hypothalamus, leading to insufficient secretion of gonadotropins. This deficiency subsequently impairs gonadal development and sex hormone synthesis, affecting both reproductive health and endocrine stability. If symptoms such as delayed sexual development or menstrual irregularities occur, prompt medical evaluation is recommended.

Causes include congenital genetic factors, hypothalamic or pituitary tumors, brain trauma or infections, and chronic malnutrition. These factors can damage the regulatory system controlling gonadotropin secretion, resulting in reduced levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH).
The core symptom of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism is delayed sexual development. In females, this may manifest as delayed menarche or amenorrhea; in males, it appears as small testicular volume and poorly developed secondary sexual characteristics. Additional symptoms may include fatigue, osteoporosis, and low mood, all of which can affect fertility and overall health. Treatment options may include hormone replacement therapy, lifestyle modifications, or other medical interventions.
In daily life, maintaining a balanced diet rich in protein and vitamins is important, along with avoiding excessive fatigue. Regular moderate exercise helps improve physical fitness and maintain a healthy body weight. Emotional stability should be preserved, and prolonged anxiety minimized, to support effective disease management and overall well-being.
