Introduction
After a stye develops into a granuloma, measures such as local warm compresses, medication as prescribed by a doctor, eye cleaning, avoiding irritation, and timely medical evaluation should be taken to promote inflammation resolution and prevent worsening of the condition through proper management. If the granuloma continues to enlarge, pain intensifies, or vision is affected, prompt medical attention is recommended. Apply a warm towel at around 40°C to the affected eye daily.

After a hordeolum develops into a granuloma, measures such as local warm compresses, medication as prescribed, eye hygiene, avoiding irritation, and timely medical evaluation should be taken. Proper management helps promote inflammation resolution and prevents worsening of the condition. If the granuloma continues to enlarge, pain increases, or vision is affected, prompt medical attention is recommended.

1. Local warm compress: Apply a warm towel at around 40°C to the affected eye daily, for 10–15 minutes per session, 2–3 times a day. This improves local blood circulation, softens the granuloma, and aids in absorption and resolution of inflammation.

2. Medication as prescribed: Use antibiotic eye drops or ointments under medical supervision to control residual inflammation and prevent infection from worsening. Anti-inflammatory eye drops may also be used when necessary to reduce tissue overgrowth.

3. Eye hygiene: Gently clean eye secretions with sterile cotton swabs to keep the eye area clean and dry. Prevent accumulation of discharge, which may foster bacterial growth and exacerbate the inflammatory response of the granuloma.

4. Avoid irritation: Do not squeeze or rub the granuloma. Avoid touching the eyes with hands, and refrain from using cosmetics or irritating skincare products to minimize stimulation to ocular tissues and prevent enlargement of the granuloma.

5. Timely medical evaluation: If the granuloma persists for more than one week without shrinking, or if it is large enough to affect appearance or exert pressure on the eyeball, seek medical evaluation to determine whether surgical removal is needed, preventing long-term discomfort.

During care, maintain regular sleep patterns and avoid staying up late to reduce ocular strain. Follow a light diet and avoid spicy or greasy foods. Strictly adhere to prescribed medications and monitor changes in the granuloma. Limit prolonged eye use and ensure adequate eye rest to support recovery.
