Introduction
Pimples inside the eyelid may be caused by excessive sebum production, improper cleansing, foreign body irritation, chalazion, or styes. These can be improved through dietary adjustments, enhanced hygiene, avoiding irritants, and medication. If the pimple enlarges, pain worsens, or vision is affected, prompt medical attention is necessary. Excessive sebaceous gland secretion can lead to oil clogging the follicles at the eyelid margin.

Acne appearing inside the eyelid may be caused by excessive sebum secretion, inadequate cleansing, foreign body irritation, chalazion, or styes. It can be improved through dietary adjustments, enhanced hygiene, avoiding irritants, and medication. If the bump enlarges, pain worsens, or vision is affected, prompt medical attention is necessary.

1. Excessive sebum secretion: Overactive sebaceous glands produce excess oil, which blocks hair follicles along the eyelid margin, forming painless small hard nodules. A light diet with reduced intake of high-fat and high-sugar foods is recommended, along with avoiding late nights that may exacerbate sebum production.

2. Inadequate cleansing: Residual eye makeup or accumulated dust can block the openings of meibomian glands, causing localized bumps. Use dedicated eye makeup removers to thoroughly cleanse the eye area, prevent cosmetic residue, and gently wash the eyelid margins daily with warm water.

3. Foreign body irritation: Tiny particles such as dust or eyelashes entering the eyelid can irritate the mucous membrane, leading to inflammatory bumps accompanied by a mild sensation of a foreign body. Avoid rubbing the eyes; gently wipe the eyelid margin with sterile cotton swabs, and rinse with saline solution if necessary.

4. Chalazion: Blockage of the meibomian gland duct leads to retention of secretions and formation of a chronic inflammatory nodule. It is usually not significantly painful, but a smooth, firm lump can be felt under the eyelid. Under medical guidance, patients may use medications such as levofloxacin eye drops, erythromycin eye ointment, or tobramycin eye drops to relieve discomfort.

5. Stye (Hordeolum): Acute inflammation of the meibomian gland caused by Staphylococcus infection, characterized by redness, swelling, and a hard lump on the eyelid, accompanied by noticeable pain and tenderness. Under medical supervision, symptoms can be treated with chloramphenicol eye drops, chlortetracycline eye ointment, or cefaclor dispersible tablets.

Maintain good eye hygiene in daily life: avoid touching the eyelids with dirty hands, refrain from squeezing acne, minimize eye irritation, consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, and maintain regular sleep patterns to support recovery of the ocular mucosa.
