Introduction
Immediately after the top of the foot is scalded by boiling water, promptly take measures such as rinsing with cold water, removing from the heat source, cleaning the wound, protecting the injured area, and timely pain relief to quickly interrupt thermal damage and prevent worsening of the injury. If the scald covers a large area, blisters have ruptured, or severe pain cannot be relieved, seek medical attention promptly. Immediately immerse the scalded area in running cold water.

After the top of the foot is scalded by boiling water, immediate measures such as rinsing with cold water, removing the heat source, cleaning the wound, protecting the injured area, and prompt pain relief should be taken to quickly block thermal damage and prevent worsening of the injury. If the burn covers a large area, blisters have ruptured, or severe pain cannot be relieved, medical attention should be sought promptly.

1. Cold water rinse: Immediately immerse the burned area under running cold water for 15–30 minutes to reduce skin temperature, minimize heat penetration, and alleviate swelling and pain. Avoid using excessively cold water to prevent secondary injury.

2. Remove from heat source: Quickly remove shoes and socks from the affected area. If clothing adheres to the skin, do not forcibly pull it off; instead, carefully cut it away with scissors to avoid further damaging the wound.

3. Clean the wound: Gently rinse the wound with sterile saline solution to remove surface contaminants and maintain cleanliness. Avoid using soap or other irritating cleansers on the wound.

4. Protect the wound: After cleaning, cover and dress the wound lightly with sterile or clean gauze to reduce friction and the risk of bacterial infection. Do not intentionally puncture blisters.

5. Pain relief: If pain is significant, over-the-counter pain relievers may be taken under medical guidance. Avoid self-applying topical analgesic ointments containing alcohol or irritants.

In daily care, keep the scalded area clean and dry, avoid contact with water and strenuous activity, wear loose, breathable cotton clothing to minimize friction, and consume a diet rich in protein and vitamins to promote wound healing.
