Introduction
Pain at the injection site after vaccination can be improved through methods such as local cold or warm compresses, keeping the area clean and dry, avoiding irritation or pulling, appropriate use of medications for relief, and distracting attention. In most cases, this is a normal immune response and does not require excessive concern. However, if pain lasts longer than 7 days, redness and swelling expand, or are accompanied by high fever or rash, prompt medical attention is recommended. Apply cold compress within 24 hours after vaccination.

Injection site pain after vaccination can be improved through methods such as local cold or warm compresses, keeping the area clean and dry, avoiding irritation or pulling, appropriate use of medications for relief, and distracting attention. In most cases, this is a normal immune response and does not require excessive concern. However, if pain lasts longer than 7 days, redness and swelling expand, or are accompanied by high fever or rash, prompt medical attention is recommended.

1. Local cold and warm compresses: Apply a cold compress within the first 24 hours after vaccination to constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling. After 24 hours, switch to a warm compress to promote circulation. Each session should last about 15 minutes, avoiding temperatures that are too high or too low to prevent skin damage.

2. Keep the area clean and dry: Clean the injection site daily with water only. Avoid rubbing during bathing, and use lukewarm water—avoiding excessively hot water—to prevent infection and worsening pain.

3. Avoid irritation and strain: Do not scratch or press on the injection site. Avoid wearing tight clothing that may cause friction. Refrain from lifting heavy objects or engaging in vigorous exercise with the vaccinated limb to minimize tissue pulling and irritation.

4. Appropriate medication for relief: If pain is significant, take medications such as acetaminophen under medical guidance. Follow the recommended dosage strictly and avoid self-medicating or overdosing.

5. Distract attention: Engage in activities such as listening to music, reading, or light exercises to shift focus away from discomfort. Reducing anxiety and promoting psychological relaxation can lower pain sensitivity and help alleviate symptoms.

After vaccination, ensure adequate rest, maintain a light diet rich in vitamin-containing foods, drink plenty of water to support metabolism, wear loose and breathable clothing to reduce pressure on the injection site, and follow a regular sleep schedule to aid recovery and relieve pain.
