Most cases of hyperuricemia are primary metabolic disorders, associated with abnormalities in endogenous purine metabolism and genetic predisposition. Primary hyperuricemia cannot be completely cured, as it is a chronic metabolic disorder. In contrast, secondary hyperuricemia can achieve clinical remission once the underlying cause is removed.
