  In healthy individuals, axillary (underarm) temperature typically ranges between 36°C and 37°C; thus, 35.5°C falls into the category of hypothermia. Measurement inaccuracies may arise from insufficient measurement duration, failure to dry sweat from the axilla prior to measurement, or excessively low ambient temperature—all of which can yield falsely low readings. If the low reading results solely from environmental or technical factors, re-measurement after adequate warming usually yields a normal temperature.
