Introduction
Facial allergic reactions may manifest as skin redness, itching, stinging or burning sensations, papules or rashes, dryness and flaking, swelling, and blisters. These reactions are commonly triggered by exposure to allergens such as cosmetics, pollen, or dust mites, with symptom severity varying among individuals. If you experience marked facial swelling, difficulty breathing, or extensive skin erosion with exudation, seek immediate medical attention at a hospital.

Facial allergic reactions may manifest as skin redness, itching or stinging, papules or rashes, dryness and flaking, swelling, and blisters. These symptoms are commonly triggered by exposure to allergens such as skincare products, pollen, or dust mites; however, individual responses vary in severity. If you experience marked facial swelling, difficulty breathing, or extensive skin ulceration with exudate, seek immediate medical attention at a hospital.

1. Skin Redness: Localized or widespread facial redness occurs, which intensifies upon exposure to heat or irritants. The redness resolves slowly, and some individuals may feel a burning sensation—distinct from transient, mild facial flushing.

2. Itching and Stinging: The skin feels itchy, often accompanied by sharp, needle-like stinging sensations. Discomfort persists continuously; scratching exacerbates symptoms and may cause secondary skin injury.

3. Papules and Rashes: Small, red bumps of varying sizes appear on the face; some may feature tiny raised tips. Rashes may be scattered or confluent, disrupting the normally smooth facial skin surface.

4. Dryness and Flaking: Allergy compromises the skin barrier, leading to significant moisture loss and resulting in tightness and dryness. Fine scales develop on the skin surface; tightness worsens after cleansing, and applying skincare products may provoke stinging.

5. Swelling and Blisters: In more severe cases, facial edema develops—particularly noticeable around the eyelids and cheeks. With worsening allergy, small blisters may form; if ruptured, they leak fluid, necessitating prompt clinical intervention.

During an allergic flare-up, discontinue all active (functional) skincare products and use only gentle, hydrating moisturizers to support skin repair. Avoid scratching affected areas, steer clear of suspected allergens, and maintain a clean environment to help restore skin stability as quickly as possible.
