Thromboangiitis obliterans (Buerger’s disease) can be managed through lifestyle modifications, physical rehabilitation therapy, pharmacological interventions, minimally invasive interventional procedures, and surgical treatment. This condition damages blood vessels in the limbs, impairing blood supply. If symptoms such as coldness or numbness in the limbs, skin ulceration or necrosis (blackening), or persistent limb pain occur, prompt medical evaluation and treatment are essential.
1. Lifestyle Modifications: Completely avoid tobacco use—including exposure to secondhand smoke—and maintain adequate warmth for the limbs to prevent cold-induced vasoconstriction.
