Common oral ulcers are not a precursor to leukemia. Most oral ulcers result from irregular sleep patterns, dietary irritants, or mucosal injury and typically resolve spontaneously. Oral lesions associated with leukemia are secondary manifestations of the disease and differ significantly from common aphthous ulcers. Persistent oral ulcers—especially when accompanied by multiple systemic symptoms—warrant prompt medical evaluation.

Oral mucosal lesions caused by leukemia arise as complications secondary to abnormal bone marrow hematopoiesis. Such lesions exhibit delayed healing and are often accompanied by spontaneous gingival bleeding, multiple oral ulcers, fatigue, and fever. Diagnosis is confirmed clinically through blood tests and bone marrow examination, followed by targeted therapy to control disease progression.

Maintain regular sleep-wake cycles and a balanced diet; avoid staying up late or excessive physical exertion; and limit consumption of spicy or hard foods. Promote optimal oral health and enhance systemic immunity to reduce recurrent mucosal injury and ulceration.
