Introduction
Glomerular sclerosis or fibrosis has already occurred on the glomerular surface. Patients with different disease types exhibit varying symptoms. Chronic glomerulonephritis is incurable; however, acute glomerulonephritis can be cured. In chronic glomerulonephritis, the glomerular surface may have become sclerotic, rendering reversal of the pathological changes impossible—treatment therefore focuses on preventing further disease progression.

Since renal function has not yet deteriorated to a severe stage, but glomerular sclerosis or fibrosis has already occurred, patients with different disease subtypes exhibit varying clinical manifestations—and thus require distinct treatment approaches. Chronic glomerulonephritis is incurable.

In contrast, acute glomerulonephritis is potentially curable. In chronic glomerulonephritis, however, the glomerular surface may have already undergone sclerosis, rendering reversal of structural damage impossible; therapy therefore focuses solely on halting further disease progression. The primary therapeutic goals are to slow disease progression and manage complications—hence, chronic glomerulonephritis remains incurable.
