Introduction
Which department should patients with chronic pharyngitis visit? Patients with chronic pharyngitis or laryngitis must first consult an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist) for a specialized physical examination to assess abnormalities in the pharynx and identify any underlying conditions that may explain their symptoms, before proceeding to further diagnosis and treatment. Upper respiratory tract infections involving the lungs and trachea commonly present not only with cough but also with typical pharyngeal symptoms.
慢性咽炎、喉炎的Patient，因咽喉Disease是多方面多因素的，如果出现了咽痛、咽痒、Cough、有痰、异物感Symptoms，一定要先到耳鼻喉科来就诊，进行专科的查体，看咽部有What异常。
有没有解释Symptoms的Disease，然后才能继续进一步的诊治，因为在临床上有一些Disease，它首先表现是咽喉部的Symptoms，如食道肿瘤，它会表现为咽部异物感，尤其是进食时异物感，比如说肺和气管的上呼吸道感染除了有Cough之外，咽部的Symptoms也很典型。
有些嗓子哑的Patient到内科就诊，经常进行了长期的Treatment之后并未见良好Effect，因为部分咽喉声音哑的Patient是喉炎或声带息肉，声带的问题就一定要到耳鼻喉科就诊，进行相关专业的Examination才能够确诊，然后才能进一步Treatment，所以咽喉炎Patient一定要先到耳鼻喉科就诊，排除其它Disease。
