Introduction
Bao Fu Kang Suppositories can generally be used on the second day after menstruation ends. This is a traditional Chinese patent medicine whose main ingredients are zedoary turmeric oil and borneol. It functions to promote qi circulation, resolve blood stasis, stimulate tissue regeneration, and relieve pain. It is highly effective in treating vulvovaginal candidiasis, particularly for symptoms including increased vaginal discharge, discharge with a curd-like or cottage cheese–like appearance, burning pain in the vulvar area, and dyspareunia.

Baofukang Suppositories possess insecticidal and pruritus-relieving, necrotic tissue-removing and granulation-promoting, as well as heat-clearing and detoxifying effects. When women suffer from cervical or vaginal inflammation, these suppositories may be used topically under a physician’s guidance. Prior to administration, the external genitalia and vagina should first be cleansed with a medicated wash, followed by insertion of the suppository into the vagina. Treatment conducted according to the prescribed course generally yields optimal results. So, how many days after menstruation should Baofukang Suppositories be used? Let’s explore this further.

When to Use Baofukang Suppositories After Menstruation

Baofukang Suppositories are typically initiated on Day 2 following the end of menstruation. This traditional Chinese patent medicine primarily contains rhizoma curcumae oil and borneol, exerting actions including promoting qi circulation, breaking up blood stasis, stimulating tissue regeneration, and relieving pain. It is highly effective in treating vulvovaginal candidiasis, alleviating symptoms such as increased vaginal discharge, curd-like or creamy discharge, burning pain in the vulva, and dyspareunia. However, use is generally contraindicated during menstruation and may resume once menses has completely ceased. Prior to application, the external genital area must be thoroughly cleaned, and the suppository inserted deeply into the vagina.

Baofukang Suppositories are intended for vaginal administration only and must not be taken orally. During treatment, consumption of spicy or irritating foods—such as chili peppers and ginger—should be minimized, as they may impede recovery. If local discomfort (e.g., burning sensation) occurs after use, discontinue immediately. These suppositories are unsuitable for unmarried women and for married women with vaginal mucosal injury or ulceration. Additionally, patients concurrently taking other medications should inform their physician prior to use, to avoid potential drug interactions that could adversely affect health.
