Nicotinamide is frequently added to cosmetic products, where it helps inhibit melanin deposition, block melanin transfer to epidermal cells, accelerate the shedding of keratinocytes containing melanin, lighten yellowing caused by protein glycation, and reduce the size and number of pigmented spots.

Additionally, nicotinamide helps reduce the production of sebum, triglycerides, and fatty acids in the skin, thereby mitigating excessive oil secretion.

It also promotes microcirculation in the dermis, maintains skin hydration, and reduces oxidative damage caused by free radicals—thus helping to slow skin aging and enhance the skin’s natural defense mechanisms.
