Introduction
Patients with thrombocytopenic purpura may appropriately consume animal meats, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, qi-tonifying and blood-nourishing foods, and heat-clearing and blood-cooling foods to support nutritional intake. Additionally, medications such as cyclophosphamide compound tablets, chlorambucil tablets, prednisone acetate tablets, dexamethasone tablets, and vitamin C tablets may be used under physician guidance.

Patients with immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) may support their nutritional status by appropriately consuming animal meats, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, qi- and blood-tonifying foods, and heat-clearing and blood-cooling foods. Concurrently, medications—including cyclophosphamide compound tablets, chlorambucil tablets, prednisone acetate tablets, dexamethasone tablets, and vitamin C tablets—may be used as prescribed by a physician. Patients are advised to seek timely medical evaluation and adhere strictly to their physician’s treatment plan. The following provides a detailed analysis:

I. Dietary Recommendations

1. Animal Meats: Examples include beef, pork, and pork liver. These foods are rich in iron, which promotes bone marrow hematopoiesis and thereby helps alleviate anemia-related symptoms to some extent.

2. Fresh Vegetables: Examples include spinach and celery. These vegetables are abundant in vitamin C and folate, nutrients that enhance iron absorption and replenish other essential micronutrients.

3. Fresh Fruits: Examples include jujubes (Chinese dates), apples, and kiwifruit. These fruits are also high in vitamin C, which facilitates iron absorption and bolsters immune function.

4. Qi- and Blood-Tonifying Foods: Examples include goji berries, red dates (jujubes), and longan fruit. These foods help strengthen qi and nourish blood, promoting hemoglobin synthesis and supporting disease recovery.

5. Heat-Clearing and Blood-Cooling Foods: Examples include bitter melon and mung bean sprouts. These foods help clear internal heat and cool the blood, potentially alleviating bleeding symptoms.

II. Pharmacological Therapy

1. Cyclophosphamide Compound Tablets: This is an immunosuppressant that primarily inhibits cellular proliferation—particularly of activated immune cells—thereby reducing autoantibody production against platelets. In ITP management, it helps prevent immune-mediated destruction of autologous platelets.

2. Chlorambucil Tablets: Another immunosuppressant, chlorambucil interferes with cellular metabolism and exerts potent inhibitory effects on lymphocytes. It dampens aberrant immune responses and reduces platelet destruction.

3. Prednisone Acetate Tablets: A glucocorticoid medication, prednisone acetate possesses strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. In ITP treatment, it suppresses autoantibody production, mitigates antigen–antibody reactions targeting platelets, improves capillary integrity, and reduces bleeding tendency.

4. Dexamethasone Tablets: Also a glucocorticoid, dexamethasone rapidly and effectively suppresses immune-mediated platelet destruction and increases platelet counts. However, its adverse effect profile resembles that of prednisone acetate, and it may exert more pronounced suppression of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis.

5. Vitamin C Tablets: Vitamin C participates in collagen synthesis, enhancing vascular wall integrity and reducing bleeding risk associated with thrombocytopenia. Additionally, its antioxidant activity supports normal physiological functions.

Patients should also maintain healthy lifestyle habits and a positive mental outlook, and actively cooperate with their physicians’ treatment plans to optimize recovery.
