Introduction
Fuyankang Tablets are a traditional Chinese patent medicine that can serve as an adjunctive treatment for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), though they cannot completely cure it. Nevertheless, Fuyankang Tablets do possess certain therapeutic effects—namely, reducing swelling, clearing heat, and promoting diuresis to eliminate dampness. They are typically indicated for conditions characterized by downward accumulation of damp-heat and toxic stasis, and are primarily used in the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, foul-smelling or yellowish urine, and vaginitis.

Fuyankang Tablets are a traditional Chinese patent medicine that can serve as an adjunctive therapy for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID); however, they cannot achieve complete cure. Nevertheless, Fuyankang Tablets do possess certain therapeutic effects. Specifically:

Fuyankang Tablets exert anti-inflammatory, heat-clearing, and dampness-resolving effects. They are commonly indicated for conditions characterized by downward accumulation of damp-heat and toxic stasis, particularly chronic PID, bitter taste in the mouth with dry mouth and throat, excessive vaginal discharge, foul-smelling or yellowish urine, and vaginitis.

For enhanced efficacy in treating PID, Fuyankang Tablets may be combined with rectal suppositories such as “Penqiangyan Qing Suppository” or “Kangfu Xiaoyan Suppository.” The primary herbal ingredients include Paeonia lactiflora, Poria cocos, vinegar-processed Tricholoma matsutake, Angelica sinensis, Sophora flavescens, and Dioscorea opposita. In patients with damp-heat type PID, these herbs help clear heat, resolve dampness, invigorate blood circulation, and dissipate blood stasis. In those with cold congealing and qi stagnation type PID, they warm the meridians, dispel cold, regulate qi flow, and promote blood circulation. As with most traditional Chinese medicines, their effects tend to manifest gradually, necessitating a relatively longer treatment duration. During therapy, patients should maintain a light diet—avoiding greasy, spicy, and other irritating foods—and abstain from tobacco and alcohol. If no improvement is observed after 15 days of treatment, patients should seek re-evaluation at a hospital and consider switching to alternative medications tailored to their specific condition.
