Introduction
After undergoing hysteroscopic polypectomy, bed rest is recommended—but absolute bed rest is not required. However, immediate physical activity should be avoided, as it may cause wound dehiscence and lead to severe hemorrhage. Postoperatively, infection prevention is essential; patients should rest appropriately and ensure adequate sleep, as insufficient rest may increase the risk of inflammation. Nutritionally balanced meals are advised; spicy or highly irritating foods should be avoided.

After undergoing hysteroscopic polypectomy, bed rest is recommended—but absolute bed rest is not required. However, immediate physical activity should be avoided, as it may cause wound dehiscence and lead to severe hemorrhage. Specific recommendations are as follows:

Hysteroscopic polypectomy is similar to induced abortion in terms of invasiveness and causes relatively minimal tissue injury. Most procedures take only about 10–15 minutes; including anesthesia induction and preparation time, the entire process typically lasts approximately 30 minutes. If intravenous general anesthesia is used, patients may resume normal activities—including using the restroom, getting out of bed, and eating—once fully awake. Nevertheless, excessive physical exertion should be avoided. Antibiotic prophylaxis is usually administered for 1–2 days postoperatively, after which patients may be discharged.

However, special attention is warranted when multiple endometrial polyps are removed via hysteroscopy, particularly in patients with a history of severe anemia secondary to recurrent or numerous polyps. In such cases, appropriate bed rest and supplemental iron therapy—or other necessary hematopoietic support—should be provided postoperatively. Thus, most patients can resume normal daily activities following endometrial polypectomy.

Postoperative infection prevention is essential. Patients should rest adequately and ensure sufficient sleep, as sleep deprivation may increase the risk of inflammation. Nutritionally balanced meals are advised; spicy or highly irritating foods should be avoided.
