Rhinitis generally does not resolve spontaneously. If a child develops rhinitis, it is often strongly associated with parental genetic predisposition—children are more likely to inherit rhinitis if one or both parents have it. Moreover, hereditary rhinitis is notoriously difficult to cure and cannot be considered self-limiting. For simple (non-allergic) rhinitis, appropriate pharmacological treatment over time may yield gradual improvement. In contrast, allergic rhinitis cannot be cured; it can only be temporarily alleviated—for this purpose, ketotifen tablets may be administered.
Pediatric rhinitis primarily manifests as rhinorrhea (runny nose) and nasal congestion; some children may also experience headaches or even memory impairment, causing notable disruption and inconvenience to their daily life and academic performance. So, can pediatric rhinitis resolve spontaneously?

Allergic rhinitis, however, cannot be cured; it can only be temporarily alleviated—for example, with ketotifen tablets orally and ketotifen nasal drops topically. In cases of sinusitis, Tongqiao Biyan Granules are recommended. Nasal turbinate hypertrophy or nasal polyps require surgical intervention, which remains the only and most effective treatment option for these conditions. Therefore, children diagnosed with rhinitis require timely medical management, as spontaneous resolution is highly unlikely.
