Introduction
In general, children born to parents with blood type B and blood type O may have either blood type B or blood type O. Blood type is determined by antigens on the surface of red blood cells: individuals with blood type B have a genotype of either BB or BO, whereas those with blood type O have a genotype of OO. During inheritance, each parent contributes one allele to the child.

Under normal circumstances, children born to parents with blood type B and blood type O may have either blood type B or blood type O. The detailed analysis is as follows:

Blood type is determined by antigens on the surface of red blood cells. Individuals with blood type B may have a genotype of BB or BO, whereas those with blood type O have a genotype of OO. During inheritance, each parent contributes one allele to the child. If the parent with blood type B has the genotype BB, then regardless of combination with the OO parent, the child’s genotype will always be BO, resulting in blood type B. If the parent with blood type B has the genotype BO and mates with an OO parent, the child’s genotype may be either BO (resulting in blood type B) or OO (resulting in blood type O).

Therefore, children born to a couple where one partner has blood type B and the other has blood type O can only have blood type B or O—blood type A or AB is impossible.
