How many times per day should acarbose tablets be taken?

Patients are advised to take acarbose tablets as directed in the package insert. Dietarily, they should avoid high-calorie, high-sugar, and high-fat foods; limit intake of fried or greasy foods—especially animal livers and seafood—and consume moderate amounts of soy products, dairy, whole grains, and cereals. They may increase intake of fruits and vegetables rich in dietary fiber, but should avoid excessive consumption of vegetables. Ensure adequate sleep and avoid overexertion.
