Early-stage acute mastitis can be effectively treated with medication, such as oral anti-inflammatory drugs like amoxicillin, combined with appropriate warm compresses to the affected breast area to help alleviate symptoms. If the mastitis is severe and abscess formation with pus accumulation occurs within the breast, surgical incision and drainage may be required.
