Since the day before yesterday, both my upper eyelids have been twitching continuously, giving me a sense that something is about to happen. What causes twitching in both eyes?

Twitching of the left and/or right eye is often caused by involuntary spasms of the eyelid muscles. Common causes include excessive eye strain—such as prolonged smartphone use, chronic sleep deprivation, or heightened mental stress—all of which may trigger eyelid twitching. Additionally, certain medical conditions—such as chronic conjunctivitis or myopia—may also contribute to this symptom.
