Is a heart rate of 150 bpm during running normal?
Disease description:
My resting heart rate is usually relatively high. Yesterday, during a physical fitness test, I casually measured my heart rate with a wristband, which read 150 bpm. Is a heart rate of 150 bpm during running normal?
A heart rate of 150 beats per minute during running falls within the normal range. Since heart rate naturally increases during physical activity in healthy individuals—with maximum heart rates reaching up to 180 bpm—the patient’s heart rate represents a normal physiological response. A resting heart rate within the normal range indicates good health. However, if the resting heart rate exceeds the normal limits, the patient should seek medical evaluation at a hospital; following diagnosis based on examination results, appropriate medications may be prescribed for management.
