Is a D-dimer level of 2.44 mg/L normal in pregnancy?
Disease description:
I have never had a D-dimer test before. Today, my D-dimer level was 2.44. I would like to know whether a D-dimer level of 2.44 is normal for a pregnant woman.
The pregnant woman’s D-dimer level is 2.44, which is considered elevated. However, an increased D-dimer level during pregnancy is a normal physiological phenomenon, as hormonal changes in pregnancy can lead to elevated D-dimer levels. Regular follow-up testing is recommended. If the D-dimer level rises excessively, it may increase the risk of thrombotic disorders; in such cases, anticoagulant medication should be administered under the guidance of a physician. Additionally, the patient should adopt a diet consisting of small, frequent meals and avoid high-fat foods.
