Risks of Excessively High Heart Rate During Running
Disease description:
I regularly exercise and run with my colleagues, but my heart rate becomes excessively high after each run. What are the risks associated with an excessively high heart rate during running?
A healthy person’s heart rate varies with physical activity—for instance, it slows down during rest and speeds up after vigorous exercise; these are normal physiological responses. However, if a patient experiences a marked increase in heart rate following intense physical exertion—accompanied by symptoms such as precordial pain and dyspnea—prompt medical intervention is required to prevent serious complications, including sudden cardiac death.
