Enlarged inguinal lymph nodes generally warrant further diagnostic evaluation, such as X-ray imaging. If the enlargement results from a localized infection—for example, chronic lymphadenitis—topical application of erythromycin ointment may be effective, and oral antibiotics such as amoxicillin may also be prescribed. However, if the cause is malignant lymphoma, surgical intervention may be required.
