Recently, my blood pressure has remained uncontrolled. I would like to know: Which is more effective for lowering blood pressure—valsartan tablets or felodipine (Plendil)?

These are two distinct antihypertensive agents, and thus are not directly comparable. Valsartan tablets belong to the class of angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), not angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors—nor are they calcium channel blockers. Both medications lower blood pressure through different mechanisms and are highly effective in treating hypertension. Theoretically, valsartan offers additional cardioprotective benefits alongside its antihypertensive effect, making it a preferred first-line option.
