I took a physical fitness test today, and my heart rate approached 180 bpm during running. I’d like to ask whether a heart rate nearing 180 bpm while running is normal.

A heart rate approaching 180 beats per minute during running is still considered abnormal. Dynamic electrocardiography (Holter monitoring) must be performed to evaluate this phenomenon. Pay attention to whether episodes of tachycardia occur in daily life, and do not rule out the possibility of underlying sinus tachycardia. In adults, a heart rate of 180 bpm following intense physical activity is relatively high; therefore, further evaluation is essential to determine whether an underlying arrhythmia is present.
