Recently, my baby contracted H1N1 influenza, but I’m hesitant to take her to the hospital for fear of cross-infection. Could you please advise which medications are appropriate for children with H1N1 influenza?

Antiviral medication should be administered orally within 48 hours of symptom onset. If fever develops, antipyretics should be taken promptly. While taking medications, patients should drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration caused by excessive sweating following fever reduction. Persistent fever accompanied by productive cough with yellow, purulent sputum typically indicates a bacterial infection, necessitating antibiotic therapy.
