My own follicles were found to be slightly underdeveloped upon examination. I would like to ask the doctor: What causes poor follicular development?

Hello, poor follicular development may be caused by pituitary disorders—such as a prolactinoma or hyperprolactinemia; premature ovarian insufficiency, characterized by scanty menstrual flow or even amenorrhea; or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), in which ovulation does not occur regularly each month. While multiple small follicles develop monthly in PCOS, they often fail to mature properly. We hope the above information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
